What Happens After Selection: Life at Training Centers
Phase 1 and Phase 2 training details, daily schedule, discipline rules, weapon training, career oath.
The Transition from Civilian to Soldier
Clearing the final merit list is a moment of pride, but it is also the beginning of the most challenging phase of your military journey. Selected candidates are dispatched to designated Regimental Training Centers across the country. The training program is structured to transform raw recruits into disciplined, mentally resilient, and physically robust soldiers ready for deployment.
Rigorous Training Schedule
The Agniveer training duration is 24 weeks, consisting of basic military training followed by advanced trade training. A typical day starts before dawn at 04:00 AM. Recruits begin their morning with Physical Training (PT) or drill, followed by breakfast. The day is packed with classroom lectures on military tactics, weapon training, map reading, and fieldcraft. In the afternoon, recruits participate in outdoor field exercises, sports, and maintenance tasks. The day concludes with roll call and lights out at 10:00 PM.
Discipline, Weapon Handling, and Regimental Pride
Discipline is absolute at the training center. Recruits learn to follow orders, handle advanced firearms like the INSAS and SIG Sauer rifles, and work as a cohesive team. The training center tests physical boundaries through long route marches carrying heavy packs, obstacle courses, and survival exercises. At the end of the training, recruits take a solemn oath of allegiance during the passing out parade, officially joining their respective regiments.
