Agniveer Syllabus & Exam Pattern
Detailed breakdown of the CEE syllabus for all Agniveer trades.
The Common Entrance Exam (CEE) is the written gateway to becoming an Agniveer — a computer-based online test held after you clear the physical and medical stages. Understanding the syllabus and paper pattern is half the battle: you stop studying blindly and start preparing like a strategist.
Exam Pattern at a Glance
The CEE is an objective-type test of 100 marks, typically 50 questions to be answered in one hour. Each correct answer earns 2 marks, and there is negative marking (usually 0.5 marks deducted per wrong answer), so blind guessing hurts. The exact section breakup varies by category, which is why knowing your category's syllabus matters.
General Duty (GD) Syllabus
The GD paper covers four areas: General Knowledge (around 15 questions — current affairs, history, geography, sports), General Science (around 15 — physics, chemistry, biology basics), Mathematics (around 15 — arithmetic, algebra, geometry up to Class 10 level), and Reasoning/Logic (around 5 — series, coding-decoding, direction sense). NCERT textbooks from Classes 8–10 are the gold standard for preparation.
Technical, Clerk & Tradesman Variations
Technical categories shift the weight toward Physics, Chemistry, and higher Mathematics (Class 12 level for some trades). Clerk/SKT papers emphasize English, numerical ability, and computer awareness. Check the official notification for your exact category — and our Technical syllabus preparation guide if you are applying in a technical trade.
Study Strategy That Works
Start with NCERT foundations, then move to previous-year papers and timed mock tests — speed matters as much as accuracy in a 60-minute paper. Revise current affairs monthly, not once at the end. And remember the bigger picture: the written exam is only one stage. You will also need to clear the physical rally standards, the medical examination, and have your documents in order. Prepare for all fronts, not just the paper.
